INTRODUCING EDGE INNOVATE’S SCREENPRO S16

After extensive research, innovative design, individual component testing and months of ‘real life’ trials, EDGE Innovate’s eagerly awaited addition to the SCREENPRO range is set to be launched into the domestic and export markets.

Offering a more compact solution without compromising on efficiency or versatility, the SCREENPRO S16 builds on the proven performance and robust design of the larger SCREENPRO S18 which was launched in 2024.

“The quality of the screening and the efficiency of the SCREENPRO S18 were very well received by the market and it has quickly become one of our most popular models,” says Steven Conway, EDGE Innovate Territory Sales Manager. “It’s a big heavy duty machine that can tackle the most demanding of tasks, and we expect its continuing success both at home and abroad will be replicated by the smaller SCREENPRO S16 which is designed for mid to large-scale operations.

“During the research phase, we engaged closely with our distribution network to discuss specifications and the core requirements for our customers. I believe we've successfully designed and launched the SCREENPRO S16, which we feel is robust, reliable, efficient and is user-friendly. It's also very easy to service, maintain and transport – features that we see as core requirements for any customer in the quarrying and recycling industries.”

As the second product to be released in the SCREENPRO range, the SCREENPRO S16 offers the same level of reliability and innovation that EDGE Innovate customers have come to expect, now in a more compact form that meets the needs of diverse screening applications.

“Customers, especially in the rental market, have found that the bigger S18 is quite heavy to move around, and some were eager to see a smaller and lighter model that would be easier to manoeuvre and would be ideal for short term rentals, so we are very confident the S16 will have a wide appeal,” says Steven.

High Production Rates

Designed to handle feed capacities of up to 600 tph, the SCREENPRO S16 delivers high production rates with precise screening. It features a 14m² screening surface, a wide oversize discharge conveyor, with adjustable screening angles from 14 and 20 degrees, ensuring both high throughput and exceptional product quality.

The SCREENPRO S16 incorporates a 4.9m X 1.5m (16’ x 5’) two-deck screen, with a heavy-duty feed hopper making it adept at both primary and secondary screening across a variety of materials, from construction debris to aggregates and recycled materials. This versatility is further enhanced by a range of screen media options, including woven mesh, punch plate, finger screens, and bofor (grizzly) decks, allowing users to tailor the machine to different feed materials and final grain sizes.

To meet the demands of recycling applications, the SCREENPRO S16 can be equipped with both over-band magnets and magnetic head drums for the extraction and recovery of ferrous metals.

With intelligent load management, a low-level feed hopper, 2 or 3 way split configuration, hydraulic folding conveyors, and a fully integrated power unit with large service access; the SCREENPRO S16 is engineered for ease of use and maximum operational uptime. The user-friendly control system, featuring sequential start/stop functionality, enhances both performance and safety.

To ensure minimal downtime, the screenbox encompasses hydraulic lift-up functionality for a quick and efficient mesh exchange process, supported by full access walkways on both sides of the screen.

Remote Functionality

The EDGE SCREENPRO S16 also offers added remote functionality for improved operator efficiency and safety. All major functions on the S16 including tracking, feed conveyor speed adjustment, sequential start up and hopper jacklegs can be remotely operated from a safe distance of up to 100m or in the comfort of the operator’s cab.

“This is something that appeals to our customers. Operators often double up as loader or excavator drivers on site, so the ability to be able to remotely control the machine without having to move out of their cabs will be a much appreciated bonus as it will not only save time but also contribute to their health and safety.”

Powered by either a Caterpillar Tier 4 Final / Stage V engine ensures the SCREENPRO S16 drive system provides the operator with a reliable, durable and fuel-efficient screening solution, and in line with EDGE Innovate’s commitment to sustainability, it and the S18 model are available with dual power and electric hybrid drivetrains for CO2 emission-free operation.

EDGE Innovate has always planned to have a third model in the SCREENPRO range to meet the varying applications and budgets of its customers. “In time there will be a S12 version that will be even more compact and lighter in weight than this new S16 model,” Steven revealed, “illustrating our commitment to innovation as we continue to cater for the differing requirements of the industry.”

“THE SCREENPRO S16 IS ROBUST, RELIABLE, EFFICIENT, AND IS USER-FRIENDLY. IT'S ALSO VERY EASYTO SERVICE, MAINTAIN AND TRANSPORT…”
