EDITOR'S WELCOME
We’re just back from a three week visit to Australia with a dozen stories from Down Under ranging from massive mining machines in New South Wales to forestry in rural Victoria and basement excavations in Melbourne. Kicking off the articles from Oz is a visit to the National Diesel Dirt & Turf expo held at the Sydney dragway on the 12th, 13th and 14th of April.
Back on the other side of the globe, we went on site to see a long reach Cat 395 dredging a berth at Dublin Port. The 100 tonne plus machine was loading barges with material and was utilising a Leica GPS system.
Read the story on Californian agricultural contractor Diamond D General Engineering’s CBI grinder. We paid a visit to see the machine as it processed old orchards near Woodland, CA.
We were on site with Yarrington Road Materials between San Antonio and Austin Texas to report on their Rammer RPV40S concrete pulveriser. The ready-mix concrete and aggregates business is one of the state’s largest suppliers of sand, concrete and rock.
Switzerland based REWAG Entsorgung AG invited us to one of their waste processing sites on the outskirts of Basel to see their Sennebogen material handler fleet in operation. Read this and many more original articles in issue 19 of Awesome Earthmovers.
