20 YEAR PARTNERSHIP

Blue Group recently marked their 20 year long successful partnership with Doppstadt by staging a three week roadshow to promote the German based manufacturer’s latest INVENTHOR 6.2 slow speed shredder which builds on the success of the long-established INVENTHOR models 6 and 9 and promises even greater efficiency and user-friendliness.

Founded by Werner Doppstadt in 1965 as a company focusing on agricultural equipment and based in Velbert, Doppstadt has evolved to become a leading partner worldwide in the field of environmental technology. The company develops, designs and produces systems and shredding equipment geared for mobile and stationary use and for handling a wide variety of materials like waste wood, household, commercial and industrial waste, bio-waste, excavated earth and green waste.

Managing Director of Doppstadt Gerd Schreier told us that since establishing the partnership two decades ago, Blue Group have sold over 500 Doppstadt machines. “It is a pleasure to work with Blue Group, seeing how they have invested in personnel and strategic plans to grow the business with us in the UK,” he said.

Sales Director at Blue Central, Sean McGeary: added “Doppstadt have been one of our core suppliers for the last 20 years. They are true innovators and it’s their innovation that has kept the company at the forefront of shredding and screening technology since their inception and we at Blue Group look forward to continuing our partnership with them for many more years to come.”

The three week long roadshow with the new INVENTHOR 6.2 shredder visited a total of 15 sites covering all of the regions served by Blue Scotland, Blue Central and Blue Southern, to demonstrate its capabilities to handle all sorts of waste material.

PROFESSIONAL DEMONSTRATION

The tour of the UK began in Aberdeen in Scotland where Awesome Earthmovers saw the new machine in action, as did Neil Sharp, Managing Director at Aberdeen based EIS Waste Services Ltd who said he was delighted to have the INVENTHOR 6.2 on demo. He said they were impressed with how it handled different waste streams with ease and were also very impressed with the engineering advancements and its fuel efficiency. “Overall, a very professional demonstration of an excellent machine,” he said.

The tour then moved its way down through England, with a number of representatives from Doppstadt, including Product Manager at Doppstadt, Dominik Niehaus, supporting the Blue Group team at the roadshow along the journey.

With a larger hopper volume and an all-new rotor, this game changing INVENTHOR 6.2 attracted plenty of attention, too, when it was shown at the IFAT at the Munich Exhibition Centre in Germany in May. IFAT is the largest global event for water, sewage, waste and raw materials management, where industry experts from all over the world gather to discuss innovative offers to meet global challenges.

First launched in 2018, the INVENTHOR series has since impressed customers around the world with its performance and flexibility. The launch of the INVENTHOR 6.2, now available from Blue Group across the UK, marks further progress in this successful product line.

“We have extended the filling area from 2.2 to 3.3 metres, increasing the hopper volume from five to eight cubic metres,” explained Dominik Niehaus. “Operators can now even move a wide wheel loader bucket down to the shredding teeth. This allows the machine to be loaded optimally and, above all, easily.”

VARIODIRECT DRIVE SYSTEM

At the heart of the new INVENTHOR 6.2 is the patented VarioDirect Drive system which copes with nearly all kinds of shredding tasks with excellent results. This unique direct drive concept variably transfers the power to the shredding shaft and thus offers completely new options for effective shredding. By doing so, the shaft speed can be flexibly adapted to different shredding tasks.

The material feed system of the INVENTHOR 6.2 ensures that the shredding process goes smoothly. It has a hopper volume of 4.5 m³. The total volume can be extended to approx. 8 m³ using removable hopper extensions. Thanks to the low loading height and a loading width of over 3.3 m, loading with wheel loader buckets is also operator-friendly.

The folding hopper can be loaded and tilted batchwise or it can be set at a suitable angle so the material automatically slides into the shredding area. In case of overload, automatic mode is disabled in order to protect the machine from any damage. Shredding stops promptly in the event of any problems. A wide opening comb flap guarantees good and, above all, safe access to the shredding chamber.

Thanks to its intelligent hydraulics, the load sensing system adapts the volume flow of the pumps exactly to the required performance. The system only provides as much hydraulic oil as the machine needs. This precisely metered oil flow reduces your fuel consumption considerably.

Driven by a powerful, highly efficient diesel engine which complies with the EU Stage V emission standard, the INVENTHOR 6.2 is also available with an optional electric drive 315 kW three-phase motor, allowing you to benefit from lower energy and maintenance costs. All necessary modules such as the switch cabinet and frequency converter are built into the machine so that you can connect the INVENTHOR 6.2 "plug and play" to your existing infrastructure.
