WALTERS GROUP TRUSTS RITCHIE BROS. WITH 2025 FLEET RENEWAL
For over 40 years, The Walters Group has been a powerhouse in the UK’s construction, quarrying, and civil engineering sectors. With a fleet of up to 1,000 heavy assets, and a reputation built on strong relationships and service delivery, the company has established itself as a leader in the industry.
In 2025, Walters Group is embarking on a significant fleet renewal project, and it has chosen Ritchie Bros. as its partner for this crucial undertaking. This decision reflects the company’s confidence in Ritchie Bros. global reach, diverse sales platforms, and expertise in maximising asset returns.
“We were seeking a partner who could offer more than just a traditional single auction,” said Huw Richards, Group Chief Operating Officer at Walters Group. “Ritchie Bros. presented a bespoke strategy that aligned perfectly with our needs, leveraging their timed auctions and Marketplace-E. Their understanding of our requirements, combined with their successful track record, particularly the Plantforce disposal sale, made them the ideal choice.”
The partnership is built on a long-standing relationship between the two companies, spanning over 30 years. “Our business is built on long-standing relationships, and that’s what we have with Ritchie Bros.,” Richards emphasised. “Mr. Walters, the founder and chairman of the company, was very comfortable with this partnership, knowing our history with them.”
Equipment will start selling in March auction
For their 2025 fleet renewal, Walters Group will be selling a range of well-maintained equipment through Ritchie Bros., starting with the March 26-27 auction. “The first wave will include a mixture of mid-size wheel loaders, articulated dump trucks, and rigid dump trucks,” Richards details. These units will be sold off-site from Walters Group’s yard in Avonmouth (Rockingham House, Smoke Lane, Avonmouth, Bristol, BS11 0YA).
