PIONEERING THE FUTURE OF CONSTRUCTION IN TEXAS

In the ever-changing market of construction in Texas, there are not many businesses that have made an impact quite like McCar Companies. Positioning themselves as leaders in the construction materials industry, McCar is committed to quality, innovation, and sustainability. With a reach expanding across major cities such as Austin and Houston and to the rural plains of West Texas, McCar’s influence is evident in roads, bridges, buildings, and beyond.

A Legacy of Excellence

Starting as a modest family operation, McCar Companies had one straight-forward goal in mind, to provide builders and contractors across Texas with high quality materials needed to build their communities. As time has gone on, McCar has grown the business by investing in top-of-the-line machinery to keep up with evolving demands, further expanding their product offerings.

Today, McCar Companies is known for their multitude of products via the utilization of Powerscreen Texas-supplied machinery. This includes utility stone, road base, flex base, concrete sand, and specialty materials out of their rich limestone quarry. With a focus on customer service and a deep understanding of the local market, McCar has become a trusted partner for projects of all sizes with materials of all sizes.

Commitment to Sustainability

In an industry that is often criticized for its environmental impact, McCar has taken bold steps to prioritize sustainability in their operations. McCar’s commitment to reducing their carbon footprint is evident in every aspect of their operations. From sourcing the raw materials and to the crushing and screening process, their environmental efforts have been focused on sustainability.

The main production area of their Georgetown, TX location consists of a 1600 Eagle Crusher which feeds into a Cedarapids LJ-TSV Horizontal Screener, then into a Powerscreen Warrior 1800 and finally a Powerscreen Chieftain 2100X, transported with the help of MGL Engineering conveyors. With the use of the electric-powered Cedarapids LJ-TSV horizontal screener, McCar’s carbon footprint is minimized exponentially.

“THEY ARE NOT JUST A SUPPLIER OF OUR MACHINES; THEY TRULY ARE PARTNERS WITH US IN BUSINESS”

McCar will soon be phasing out the use of all diesel-powered machines to make the full switch to electric-powered machines supplied by Powerscreen Texas, further making a positive impact on the environment by slashing emissions and reducing fuel consumption.

A People-Centric Approach

The relationship between McCar Companies and Powerscreen Texas was built on a strong foundation of trust and stewardship. Peter Nunez, President and CEO, McCar Companies attended ConExpo 2020 with the hunger for knowledge in the mining and crushing sectors. Nunez found himself at the Powerscreen Texas booth intrigued by what he was seeing and was sat down with Powerscreen Texas President, Sam McNabb.

Nunez eagerly engulfed as much information that he could about various Powerscreen machines and the crushing and screening industry, then soon after he returned to Texas, he once again met with the Powerscreen Texas team to express his production and expansion goals. This allowed the Powerscreen Texas team to educate, equip, and train McCar’s staff on all-things crushing and screening. Freshly equipped with the machinery needed to begin operations, McCar’s team was quick to evolve into the large company it is today.

With innovation at the forefront of their operations, the company remains deeply committed to their people. Peter Nunez and the leadership team at McCar Companies understands that their success is driven by the hard work and dedication of their employees. As such, they have cultivated a company culture that values teamwork, safety, and professional growth.

McCar Companies President and CEO Peter Nunez expressed, “We are here to serve our surrounding community, in both residential and commercial sectors. With the adjustability of the machines that we’ve purchased from Powerscreen Texas we are able to meet the demands from our customers to customize final products for their needs that we weren’t previously able to produce”

Strategic Partners

Cory Farris, COO, McCar Companies, stated “We would not be where we are at today if it wasn’t for our relationship with Powerscreen Texas. They are not just a supplier of our machines; they truly are partners with us in business. They are experts in what they do, and we tend to be very successful when we take their advice in mining and crushing.”

The main focal point from Powerscreen Texas’s view was to educate and walk with McCar Companies as they evolve in the industry. Since 2020, the company has seen tremendous growth, which requires the onboarding of new equipment to keep up with buyer demands. Powerscreen Texas goes beyond the mere selling of equipment, they ensure proper training is done for all new operators as well as keeping up with any maintenance necessary to guarantee uptime and longevity of their machines.

“THEY ARE EXPERTS IN WHAT THEY DO, AND WE TEND TO BE VERY SUCCESSFUL WHEN WE TAKE THEIR ADVICE IN MINING AND CRUSHING.”

A Vision for the Future

As McCar Companies looks to the future, their vision is clear: to continue leading the way in the construction materials industry while prioritizing sustainability, innovation, and customer satisfaction. The company plans to expand their product offerings, explore new markets, and further invest in research and development to stay ahead of industry trends.

Moreover, McCar Companies is committed to playing a role in the development of Texas. With the state’s population and economy continuing to grow, the demand for high-quality construction materials is expected to rise. Utilizing the equipment and training supplied by Powerscreen Texas, McCar Companies is well-positioned to meet this demand, ensuring that Texas’ infrastructure remains strong and resilient for generations to come.
