TILTROTATORS

COSTS DOWN EARNINGS UP!

RotoTop – the rotary drive for every excavator use provides more productivity and a fast familiarisation

Back in 2007, German manufacturer Holp launched the RotoTop concept of pure rotation and the associated increases in performance for excavators, driven by consumer satisfaction. Many other market players have since adopted this idea, but the RotoTop still offers the most favourable and economical solution.

Being a carrier for numerous attachments, the excavator must ensure that all tasks on construction sites are not only completed on time, but also more and more efficiently. Günter Holp, inventor of the RotoTop with decades of experience in the use of excavators says: “Attachments have to earn the money on the site and also more and more replace employees. Our RotoTop gives them more flexibility and leads to more productivity.’ The RotoTop’s limitless rotation gives the excavator the opportunity to reach all corners of a working area without having to be moved very often. This significantly reduces manual labour for the construction site team and cuts the overall processing time and costs by increasing performance and thus earnings.

An excavator using the RotoTop will easily cope with all standard tasks on sites. Tiltrotators may offer some extra mobility, but this is only needed when working on very special tasks. Also, they come with significant drawbacks as being too complex, too expensive, too prone to failure as well with being too heavy and too tall, what creates a noticeable power loss for the excavator.

Maximal flexibility at maximal breakaway force

Mounted directly on the excavator, the RotoTop impresses with a lot of advantages. It is in daily use since 2007 at thousands of companies worldwide and has proven its worth. With the RotoTop the operator can achieve maximal digging forces as its mounting height is exceptionally low and the tool has a very low dead weight. When using a backhoe, you can achieve a particularly big increase in performance. Concrete figures say: In earthworks, you can achieve an increase of 10–25%, in sewer construction up to 30%. In gardening and landscaping, increases of up to 50% and more are possible.

Big advantages that lead to more efficiency on sites

Maximum oil flow leads to peak performance of any attachment: Using the RotoTop you won’t see overheating or a high dynamic pressure in long-term usage, because Holp standard rotary joints offer a larger line cross-section than others in the market.

High robustness – built for toughest applications: As power transmission goes directly via the bolts and screws, the housing always remains intact, even in the case of possible overloading.

Easy maintenance and great durability: The worm gear is greased which contributes to its very long durability. No oil is leaking and greasing is easily controllable. The RotoTop may also be connected to a central lubrication system without any problems.

Warranty: Holp grants a 3-years / 3,000 OpHrs warranty - even with extremely rough usage such as with a rock cutter, breaker or a ripper bucket.

Safety: Due to the reduction of manual labour employees no longer have to be present in risk areas which leads to more site safety.

Flexibility: Any bottom hitch can be applied to the RotoTop so that there is no need to replace buckets or other attachments, which are used in the company.

Compatibility: The RotoTop works perfectly with GPS and 3D control systems such as Leica, Trimble, Topcon, MOBA, Unicontrol and IDig.

Cost savings:

↘ As the excavator must be moved less, since the options have increased due to 360° rotation, less time is needed and less fuel is consumed on site.

↘ Fixed rotation on the excavator – no expensive rotation for each attachment.

↘ More cost-effective than Tiltrotator because of greater flexibility through special sequences.

↘ No complex excavator modifications needed – easy installation.

↘ Compact design leading to a maximum performance in excavation work.

Still, if an operator should find out that he needs some extra mobility, the RotoTop is convertible into RotoX, the Tiltrotator from Holp with big advantages: It is built without cylinders which makes it easier to work in confined spaces, e.g., between existing pipes and avoids damage.

Total costs of ownership

Holp has made an example calculation for the amortization of the RotoTop, which can be checked via the QR-Code. A RotoTop for an excavator with working weight of 8 tons would be paid within little more than 3 months.

RotoTop: The only rotary drive designed for more than one excavator life

Sales Managing Director Torsten Schick summarises the advantages of the robust construction and quality components: ‘With us, you buy the rotary drive only once for two excavator lives, which illustrates once more, how economical our attachment is.
